NOTE: There are some items on this list I still eat because one of my other triggers
is not eating!! I really don't know how to survive without bread.
I eat some milk products, for example: butter, lactose free ice cream and
Cheesecake as a special treat. I also sometimes eat a small amount of eggs.
(how much egg could there be in a cookie?!)
There are also times when I have to choose between the lessor or two evils.
Other allergies:
Other things I don't eat because they are migraine triggers
Other Notes about food & migraines
- MSG *Migraine Trigger*
- Caffeine: I'm very careful about how much I drink and seem to only to get headaches from if I alter the quantity greatly. The headache I used to get from caffeine withdrawal seemed to be in the center though, and not migraines.
- Alchohol: I haven't had more than a few sips in years. I sometimes use masala wine in cooking.
- Chocolate: Dark chocolate seems to be a migraine trigger. Some milk or white chocolate seems to be ok.
- Nitrates: I try to avoid, but will eat a hot dog if I'm out and there aren't other food choices. The type I buy myself have no nitrates.
Other things I don't / wont eat:
- Coconut (it's a texture thing
- Black Pepper (I hate it. Sometimes will even burn my lips)
- Peaches and other fuzzy fruit (blech)
